The Dog Story Behind The Dress: LULU

We have mentioned before that all our dresses are named after dogs that we rescued from Romania. We would like to share some of their stories with you…

Lulu bodenlang rescue project romania

This young sweetheart was caught on the Romanian streets by dog hunters from a kill shelter. When Jenny first saw this dog she immediately fell in love with her, as she looked so much like her own rescue - Mona. But things were about to get complicated. Our team had reserved 35 dogs from this kill shelter, mainly the ones that were supposed to be put down next - including Lulu. However, the shelter was not keen on letting us save these dogs. Normally the process takes less than a week, but this time the shelter was not cooperating, and they refused to reply to us for over six weeks. After countless attempts of communicating with them, they finally got back to us. We were devastated to find out that 30 dogs from our list had already been put down. The sweet Lulu was extremely lucky not to be one of them and we were able to get her and a good number of other doggies out of this doomed place. After a check at the vet and the important medical treatment, two year old Lulu was ready to leave. She had to spend three weeks of quarantine in Romania with our associates, then she joined Jenny and her dogs Mona and foster Pippa

She only spent six days with Jenny, as her new family came to see her straight away. She was well enough to move in with them, an she is a happy and spoilt dog ever since!
