The Dog Story Behind The Dress: VICTORIA
We have mentioned before that all our dresses are named after dogs that we rescued from Romania. We would like to share some of their stories with you …
Victoria, our lovable lady, shared fate like so many other dogs in Romania: caught on the streets by dog hunters, she was brought to the killing shelter “Campina”. The Romanian animal rights activist Mihaela Teodoru saved her and over 100 other dogs by bringing them to the public shelter of Bucov. In Bucov dogs don’t get killed and have the chance of being adopted.
Mihaela who is living her life only for the Romanian stray dogs, was able to stop the killing program in Campina back in 2018. She is currently turning the run-down place into a shelter where dogs can be adopted from – and we are doing our very best to help her with her mission and making the living conditions of the dogs acceptable. But there is (and constantly will be) a lot of work to do and even the smallest donation is needed.
Victoria was in Campina before Mihaela had been able to stop the killing program at that shelter and many dogs died under the worst conditions. However, Victoria shares the fortune of having been adopted with only a few dogs. She moved in with Jenny, the founder of BODENLANG, at the age of three and had been adopted to a wonderful family shortly after her arrival.
